About Captain Casey Armstrong
Casey Armstrong was born in Jacksboro, Texas. He spent much of his early life there with his mom, dad, and brother. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and cowboying with his dad and grandparents. His dad, Bo, was an avid fisherman that loved catching catfish on Lake Arrowhead. Casey spent countless weekends camping and fishing with his dad on the banks of The Little Wichita River. It was there that his great love for fishing began.
At this time, his grandad ran the Ryan Ranch in Palo Pinto, Texas. He loved to visit them to hunt and fish the Brazos River and the many lakes and tanks on the property. During junior high, his family moved to the Ryan Ranch where his dad became the foreman. After settling in Palo Pinto, Casey attended Graford Schools where he later graduated. He spent many summers cowboying with family friend Corky Nix. During high school, Casey worked for Trophy Tackle in Mineral Wells, Texas. This increased his knowledge of bait fish and the fishing industry in general. He spent all of his free time outdoors on the ranch and in the river.
Upon graduation from high school, Casey met and married the love of his life, Emily. He then attended Weatherford College Police Academy in the early 90’s while living at Possum Kingdom Lake where he discovered the thrill of Striper fishing. He began his law enforcement career in Mineral Wells, Texas. Most of his 18 year career was spent working for the Palo Pinto County Sheriff’s Department. Casey became foreman of the Ryan Ranch after his dad’s retirement. It was there, near the banks of the Brazos River, that he raised his three children, Emma Ray 21, Trinity 18, and Cooper 16. In 2014, Casey began his fishing charter business, HookedUp Outfitters, at Possum Kingdom Lake.
